Reading a book or article that resonates so deeply that it speaks to your soul is transformational. Below are some of the books and websites that have provided me with that experience and truly gave me the knowledge I needed to grow. I personally prefer to listen to audio books and highly recommend downloading the app to your local library so you can check them out for free!
Websites
-
Yes, this site is intended for therapists to find resources to use with clients, AND, I think it's a great place for people to learn about therapy, mental health, and do some of their own homework. This is not a site to gatekeep!
-
Great place to not only find a therapist, but learn about all different areas of mental health.
-
Great place to learn more about ADHD.
-
Another great place to find a therapist, but I have also been loving all of their articles about mental health. They have felt so relevant.
Books
-
The quickest read that is both powerful and simple. This book is so helpful in creating guidelines for an enjoyable life, and explaining why they are needed. It comes from a spiritual lens that is relatable to all.
-
I love that this book gives and explains real ways people can work on themselves. If you're truly ready to do the work, this is a great place to start.

If you haven't read anything by Brene Brown or watched any of her videos...hurry, go do it!! Get off this website and find something of hers to read. She is so helpful in helping us understand emotions and how they influence the ways we act with each other.
-
Another great read for those who really want to turn inwards, recognize their trauma, and learn how to move forward from it.
-
Providing a new perspective on what it means to love.
-
The best book about anxiety I've ever read. Dr. Vora does a fantastic job of explaining the sources of anxiety, and really tangible ways of combating it.

For anyone looking to create better relationships, whether that be friendships or romantic partnerships, this is an absolute must read. This is also for anybody, whether you are in a relationship or not. Jay provides not only suggested changes/reflections, but does an amazing job explaining why they are needed and helpful.
